I had a perianal abscess surgery, but after a month it looks as if another abscess is forming. Help?

Hi Everyone

I'm new to this forum, but need some clarification/advice on my situation.

Essentially, it all started a few months ago; I had developed a perianal abscess around the end of September 2017. It would be very painful, but I would take antibiotics to keep the size manageable. I was on APO-CLAV 875mg/125mg which actually made it seem like it was gone, but after coming off antibiotics the abscess would return. Eventually, the specialist had given me the date for the surgery. I had I&D done November 27. Initial stages of the healing process was tough, but after a week I was able to do normal routine things again such as sit w/o pain, bending over w/o pain etc. After two weeks I was able to return back to work (Dec 11), however, the wound wasn't completely healed. The depth of the incision had healed but not the skin over the cut. Even to this day, the skin hasn't healed, but a doctor from Emergency Care had informed me that it could take as much as 6 months to heal.

The story after the surgery:

-The week of Christmas I started experiencing constipation

-After a bowel movement on Dec 27 there was bright red blood on the tissue when wiping, but no pain when actually using the toilet

On December 30th

I noticed pain when sitting down; when taking a shower I felt the area where the pain was coming from and it felt hard just like when I had the perianal abscess

On December 31st

-woke up in pain still (worse than yesterday)

-took a morning dump; bowel movement aggravated the lump (due to straining?)

-went to emergency; doctor took a look and felt the lump area and mentioned that it didn’t feel like pus

-He called the specialist and they both believed that I should see him when he gets back January 10th

-given antibiotics, told to do frequent Sitz Baths, and take stool softener

-around 9pm would feel wet spots on shorts like there was a discharge also noticed I was very gassy

-11pm was gonna take my final sitz bath for the day and when undressing noticed blood on shorts. The lump and ruptured from the perianal abscess surgery wound

January 1st

-wore a pad before bed, noticed a combination of blood and pus on the pad

-normal bowel movement

-noticed pain still when sitting and bending. Pain when touching wound area where surgery took place

-visited emergency;

-nurse mentioned perianal abscess returns to those who previously had

-doctor mentioned that he doesn’t believe it’s a fistula. He said it seems like it’s due to some sort of internal infection where stitches were made during surgery. And the blood collected and needed to be popped

-same plan; wait for specialist to return

-noticed when straining to let out gas there would be times of pain

-can’t describe it but it just feels off; don’t feel normal

As of writing this I'm still in a bit of pain.

Some questions:

-what is happening to me?

-will I be able to go back to normal?

-fistula developing?

-another abscess?

-should i keep taking the antibiotics? If I stop and notice the lump returning

-possible that I had an external haemorrhoid? Staining cause blood to collect?

-doctors keep mentioning scar tissue but it hurts and why didn’t I feel these before?

-why when pooping that the lump gets aggravated like it starts feeling inflamed/swollen?
