I had a ruptured AAA aneurysm, anyone else?

I do not hear much from people who survived a ruptured AAA aneurysm. Are you doing fine now? How was the experience of getting all that blood out of your stomach? Did you have trouble bending over and picking things up for a while? Did the pools of blood in your belly cause you to have weird pains? Can that dispersion cause blood clots later on? After 6 months are you feeling normal again?

The drain in my back was taken out in the ICU.. I had no swelling thank God, it was just a precautionary measure.. it's like having an epidura when a women is going to have a c-section.. it was a little painful going in and they had to be very careful not to hit any nerves.. after that was done I was wheeled in to OR... it wasn't long before I was out... I am feeling better each day the physical therapist came today,, and said I am doing a lot better with my exercise and I walked one flight of stairs today.. I am so grateful to the Lord and my wonderfu doctor and his team for the outcome... and I am glad I found this forum... it's so good to talk with others, who have had similar surgery...

I also wonder if anyone remember the dreams they had while in the induced coma. It all seemed real to me.

My dad unfortunately had complications. He had his surgery 5 months ago and contracted an infection which meant he needed a ten hour operation to removed the infection from his graft and wherever else it spread to. He is now on long term antibiotics to keep the infection away. He also suffered a blood clot and is now on blood thinners but he won't be on those forever. Just until his INR because stable
I think anyone that survives this operation is so strong mentally and physically. Well done to you all. Recovery is hard but I'm sure you will get there. My dad is slowly getting better every week
