I had a mini-stroke almost a year ago. I began changing my diet to more alkaline foods, lots of walking and working with light weights (exercise is important), quit worry and hurry(killers). An overly acidic state of the body and negative emotions I believe now, after much research and study, may be the cause of all so-called 'disease'. It seems the urine PH needs to be between 7 and 8.  6.5 and lower you are probably going too acidic (as mine was before). If you don't know, you can get urine test paper not expensive and keep a check on the urine PH. I have been gradually coming back to normal functioning, especially my memory walking balance and energy. Good luck Khatija and remember that it didn't happen overnight and takes time to recover by DOING the right things.

Right food, Right exercise, Right thoughts. I suggest doing lots of research. And I thank God for the good things I have and have had in my life. I am age 78. Keep a positive mind and outlook. If you like, anyone is welcome to email me and discuss health (not disease, I don't believe in it).

Hi Khatija.  So sorry you're going through this, especially with children to care for.  Sometimes TIA's do occur in litle groups, ie you get more than one over a short period of time.  A TIA definitely doesn't leave any permanent damage, it is as it says 'transient'.  It's often caused by a small clot which then disperses afterwards leaving no trace, so very difficult to find any definitive results in tests after the event.  Please do check with your doctor for further vascular tests to ensure you don't have any blockages that may get worse and lead to a more serious full stroke.  It doesn't always figure that a TIA means you will have a major stroke however.  In some cases, a cause is never actually found because whatever caused it/them has disappeared.  Not being able to recall certain words or names of things is a very common effect with TIAs.  Be a little pushy with your GP and explain your ongoing symptoms and also the fact that you have anxiety because of your commitments as a working mum.  As Roland has said, following a healthier pattern re general body wellbeing will certainly do a lot to prevent further problems and I hope you recover soon and fully. xx

I still have feelings that I may be having another TIA, The left side of my face sometimes feels numb and I get pins and needles in my hand, scares the life out of me and makes me very anxious then I can't sleep, it's horrible , I'm waiting for my MRI scan
