I had a very severe bout of diverticulitis but had the added problem of sceptacemia and was totally unaware of the situation until it suddenly happened. I also have 2 fibroids and when I was admitted they discovered that an ovary was enlarged. I have since forgotten about the ovary and it appears it is still there and have got a quick follow up which will probably result in a full hysterectomy. My consultant was fantastic Mr Alberts as I was critical for 10 days - on morphine.

Did any of you have a colonoscopy done..I'm scheduled to have one done in 2 months time and I'm scared of the risks involved..i.e perforation of the bowel which is life threating.
I had a internal examination and the specialist said it was probally IBS or piles but wanted to do a colonoscopy to make sure...

No pain afterwards. Honestly.
The risks are very minimal. They really are very careful and talk you through it as you go. Good Luck.
P.S. Why are you having to wait so long? Normally they don't 'hang about'
