i called the doc he said to ice and elevate. He made it seem like it wasn't a big deal. I had pain the day after i fell but now i feel just fine. Should i be worried still that i messed up my ankle more?

Did you have any fractures? Internal fixation with hardware?
I also fell at 1 week, the doctor said pretty much everyone does. I had ORIF for a fibula fracture and had to put my foot down while it was still splinted. I felt a twinge pain and had some soreness after. An x-ray showed everything was stable.

its just tears in my lateral ankle ligaments.

**I fell off the bed and in the bathroom. It happens. As careful as we all tend to be and scared, too... it is bound to happen.
I was fine and had what you had with some other work...
If the doc is concerened don't worry your head especially if you dont have pain!
