I had bunionectomy surgery and am wondering how many months I'll be off work?

I had Bunionectomy surgery on my right foot one month ago. I normally work 8-9 hours a day on a hard cement floor. I was curious how long it might take me to go back to working full time again everyday? I'm still waiting for my next doctor appointment in a week to see if I'm able to wear tennis shoes yet ?

Did it not cross your mind to ask the doctor before you're surgery?

Of course I asked him and he said everyone is different and it could be 12 weeks ! I was just curious about others experiences with having the surgery and going back to work !?

I went back to work at 11 weeks but have swelling that prevents me from walking much. I am 4 months out from surgery and still have to keep my foot up at work and home.

I had bunion surgery, reconstructed big toe and second fused hammertoe. The base of the hammertoe continues to burn if I walk to much. The swelling also includes pins and needles that require me to tap my foot to relieve some of the feeling. Am hoping my doctor knows how to help me as my PT therapist has been trying many things. Currently doing laser therapy, kinesiology (sp?) tape (to pull the fluid up my leg) and using a sequential compression machine in the evening.

Everyone responds differently to trauma and I did not expect to still have this problem.

Good luck to you in your healing.

Well, I had bunion surgery and also hammer toe repair today. I did not want to have fusion for various reasons. Now I am home with my foot heavily bandaged and in a mid calf boot. Still numb. What can I expect as far as pain in concerned? I really hate take opioids. I don't want want to get addicted. Also, how long before you can walk on your heel on that foot? Right now I am using a walker and it is sort of hard. Thanks for your responses.
