I had ESA assessment 1 year ago and just been told they need more information

Hi guys

I had an ESA assessment in august last year and after months of waiting I called them this year and I was told to wait for a decision and nothing came. I called ESA today and was advised the notes say they require more information and possibly to see me again. Yet I hadn't been told and would still be waiting had I not called

Now I'm anxious and angry. What could this mean? In June 2017 I had also been assessed for PIP and awarded enhanced on Living component and standard on mobility. I appealed under mandatory reconsideration and award stayed the same. I then appealed to a tribunal and was getting disheartened and chose the option for the decision to be made on the strength of written submission and to my pleasant surprise I received a letter awarding enhanced Rate for both components

Now it looks like I might have to go through this again. I would appreciate any thoughts from you guys

    Hi,

    This is very odd. Your PIP has nothing to do with the ESA as they're both completely different benefits.

    My first question is are you in a group for ESA or still on assessment rate?

      Are you 100% sure that it was an ESA assessment you went for? and you're still sending in fit/ sick notes as they used to be called? If so then that's horrendous that they've kept you waiting this long for a decision.

      When you rang ESA did you ask what other information they require? Have you asked for a case manager to ring you? Sorry for all the questions but trying to figure out why you've waited so long. If you haven't spoke to a case manager then ring ESA again and ask for a call back from one and someone should ring you within 48 hours. When you do have the call please ask them exactly what is going on and why you've had to wait this long. As you've been waiting this long i'm guessing it Income Related ESA you're receiving and not Contributions based? because CB ESA is only payable for 365 unless you're placed into the Support Group and then it's paid for as long as you remain in that group.

      You say you have a PIP an Enhanced daily living award for PIP. May i ask exactly how much ESA you get every fortnight? because if you're claiming Income Related ESA you could be entitled to some premiums on top of your ESA. Does anyone claim Carers Allowance for you and do you live alone, or classed as living alone.

      Sorry once again for the 50 questions lol just trying to help you as much as i can.
