I had hoped to see betterbthan before

I am about 3 week’s post op on my 2nd eye ( monovision, same as my contacts had been). I didn’t have cloudiness before surgery- they just could no longer correct me better than 20/40.
I did measure 20/32 at my 1 week post op visit but it seems to me I see no better than before the surgery.
Guess I should be glad I see no worse, as some do in these forums. And I suppose the advantage is I no longer need contacts either.

Yeah I would agree with you and hope that things remain as they are or get a little better because what no one told you (I bet) before the surgery was that you risk developing scar tissue on this membrane or capsules as some doctors refer to it, that's what causing my major problems, aside from constantly feeling like I've been running around in sandstorm for hours Good Luck with your recovery and don't be reticent about bringing up any issues you believe are compromising your vision. If you think there's a problem then there more than likely it's a problem.

Yep I too had blurry vision a lot of the time for weeks after cataract surgery. Didn't really start to get stable and improve until I could stop the steroid eyedrops after 6weeks or so. Since then I usually get around 20/25 to 20/30 uncorrected vision now. I got an optometrist eye exam after a few months and found I have about 1D residual astigmatism so that limits the vision to what I'm getting. Eyeglasses can correct for that to get 20/20 or better though.
So I suggest hanging in there and your vision may improve in the next month or two. At that time I'd suggest you get a simple optometrist eye exam to find out your new eyeglasses Rx to see if the power is off a bit and/or if you have residual astigmatism cylinder.

Sue An and Nighthawk are absolutely correct. I had decent vision while on the drops but a fair amount of fluctuation. Everything stabilized and improved considerably once I passed the 6-week point and ceased the eye drops. I was testing anywhere from 20/30 to 20/15 at distance about 2 weeks post-op but now I'm consistently 20/15. I also had a weird thing where if I was working using the near focal point (I have a mulitfocal) for an extended length of time, then I'd lose distance focus for an hour or more. That disappeared too once I was past the drops and healed.
