Mischa, So sorry that happened to you. I can' imagine the pain you must be in. You should probably see a doctor ASAP. You may have shaken some things up. If it's really bad, go to the ER. Try ice or heat and don't bend, lift or twist.

Take care and let us know how it goes.

What happened to you is so unfortunate and I feel devastated how it happened.  You would think right after your surgery that you would be in a healing process.  You said it was in July.  By now you must have taken care of it.  Please let me know how you are doing today.

    Hi Mischa,

You have been quite good responses regarding your spinal injury, and now it is worse you should be on very strong painkillers. I am on Class "A" medication for back and shoulder, with further painkillers at night.

When you stated you came back from ER, I am assuming you are in the USA, not the UK. If you are in the UK, you can apply for a special chair via your doctor - I had to, and it made a big difference, because you can set the chair up with the hand remote in to a position that you are comfortable with. You don't need to put additional force on your spine, because the chair will even lift you in to a standing position.

You can actually purchase these chairs over here, if you are disabled then you do not pay VAT (Value Added Tax), because you are exempt. This allows you to spend more on the ideal chair, they cost over here anything from £500 - £2,500, they are not cheap, but then if you have a doctor backing you then you do not even pay for the chair.

You can also rent these chairs for about £15 a week, but if you are disabled with a progressive disorder then this choice should not be taken.

I was wondering if you have such schemes over in the USA? which you could benefit from, instead of just sitting in pain all the time.

But like all the rest have said, you really need to see a Neurologist or your own Doctor.

Anyway, have a prosperous New Year!

    Regards,

    Les.

I had a 5 level fusion too!  Sorry, I just read your posting.  Make sure you are wearing your back brace all the time.  My L5=S1 fusion has failed twice, so they have just given up on it.  Yell at your pain management doctor to give you the pain meds you need.  How are you doing now

Listen to the kind people here and get the medical help you need and follow directions to the letter. I'm not chastising, but you should not be going to class, sitting, the day after a spinal surgery. Maybe you never healed correctly? I hope things have been sorted by now. Please let us know.
