I had my gallbladder removed a year ago. Everytime I drink I vomit violently

I had my gallbladder removed a year ago. Since then anytime I have an alcoholic drink whether its one or two, I'll violently get sick soon afterwards or during the night after digestion. It will always be a lot of bile I bring up and just contents of the stomach too. I am not a drinker, I can count on my two hands how many times I have drank during the year. I don't drink spirits it would be light beer I drink as I thought it might be the spirits making me feel like this. I'm wondering is it something to do with having no gallbladder? As the pain is very very sore around where it should be and my stomach is very sore. it's just worrying as I rarely drink and when I do I'm violently sick after it and the most I would drink would be 4 drinks. I never had this problem before I had the operation. If anyone may know what this is please let me know. Thanks.

i will take antacid more . dark chocolate my go to bothers me more now also some nuts and drinks im more bloated. i dont get violently sick though just bloated and uncomfortable stomachs. maybe the beer to much causing reaction. try something different . rule out things see what agrees with you no longer having GB

Hi sorry to hear what your going through in relation to drinking the reaction you are going through. I can have a few drinks, but it makes me feel awful, I don't get sick. but takes me ages to recover from any drinks spirits beers etc. Always get yourself checked out. to make sure everything is ok.

Also the need for digestive enzymes to aid digestion of foods to also help the liver which is working a lot harder to produce the bile and to breakdown the foods. i truly hope everything is getting better for you.

I have a lot of problems with acid reflux, recently due to a lot of stress, also had a lot of pain similar to when i had my gaulbladder, which was removed last July. Been advised it could be another stone in the bile duct.

I have noticed i have to pay attention to what i eat as this will cause me bloating and lack of appetite and sometimes feeling sick sometimes on certain foods.

I need digestive enzymes myself, also careful with diary lactose problems sometimes.

hope this helps some what always seek medical advice above all if in doubt

    kind regards Joanne good luck

I would talk to your Dr, are you taking any other medications? I am two months post surgery and I drink fairly often beer, wine or mixed and I have no problems. Red wine makes my acid reflux act up pretty bad! Sorry you are having trouble
