I did a LOT of research about reverse shoulder replacement because it was an option my doctor was giving me. Although it was the very last resort and he said I was too young for it (I am almost 70 yr!). My surgeon told me he only does reverse replacement on the elderly because of the loss of range of motion. Also talked to my physical therapist because he has a couple of patients who had this surgery. I decided not to do it and had a reconstruction instead for the very reason you are talking about. My therapist told me he rarely sees anyone that can move their arm above the shoulder. That being said, it doesn't mean some people aren't successful. And I understood if I decided to go that route, I would be pain free, so I'm sure that is very difficult for you. I'm so sorry you are going through this. I wish I had an answer. I agree with Valerie, if you can, get a second opinion.

I'm so happy to hear you are doing well Valerie. I did not mean to imply everyone will have difficulty with range of motion and you are proof that it can work. My surgeon did assure me that with a replacement I would be pain free after going through therapy. That in itself is a blessing.

I went to physical therapy and they released me because insurance wouldn't pay anymore so now I'm seeing a Chiropractor because it's the beginning of the year and insurance started over so will see if this works.

If insurance started over the first of the year, I wonder why you are not going back to physical therapy. I agree with Mia, I would do whatever I could to get to therapy. Once or twice a week and the therapist can tell you how to continue at home. Seems like it would be worth it. I have always believed there is no reason to go through surgery if you don't follow through with therapy afterwards.

Trust me, you are not a big baby. I think my first post here was a week after my surgery and I was crying every day all day. I was in so much pain. And everyone was so nice letting me know that I’m not crazy and I’m not a big baby that this is how it is. Now at seven weeks I just planted three plants in the backyard! 🤗
