Hi Molly, I had my TKR  just after you (17 Jan 18). Do you think you might be walking too much ?  I make a point of walking about 3/4 mile every other day & found for me this is much better.  I tried this distance every day for 5 days, I was in a lot of discomfort & couldn't even make the distance on day five. With exercises as well it was too much for me. My PTsays ' listen to your knee ', so now that's what I do. I work three mornings a week & do a lot of walking in my job, so on those days I don't go for my walk. I just go at my own pace now, if it takes a bit longer to get back to normal, then so be it, better than being in pain.  I wish you well.

Are you walking that much all at once?  I am almost at the 4 month post op mark (19th of Jan 2018) for a TKR and while I am getting 2 to 3 miles on my fitness tracker I don’t do them all at once.    I am mostly walking in my yard and garden.  I walk a bit and then rest, walk a bit and then rest.  I figure I will give it some more time before I try to do a straight mile or two.  The other day I had almost 3 miles on my fitness tracker and by the end of day I was so tired I couldn’t even cook dinner.  I spent the evening with ice on my knee.
