I am concerned about my hysterectomy having a detrimental effect on my TVT. Are there any known complications ? Is it likely my TVT may have "meshed" onto my womb/ cervix/uterus?

my dear good luck and this would be a question for your surgeon genecologist. I just had a total hysterectomy 3weeks ago and I am a reck. I am 62 it was to prevent cancer as i had a big mass on my ovary and the endemetrium was inflammed. God's blessings on you and good luck.

    Hi Paula

I haven't an answer for you, but wondered if you wouldn't mind perhaps being able to give me some advice.  I have a GU prolapse - bladder into the vagina which is causing stress incontience and my consultant stated I need the TVT to prevent the bladder leaking at inconvenient times.  This is okay, but this doesn't solve the problem of the prolaspe.  I notice that you now have to have the hysterectomy.  Was this due to a polapse as I've read on the site that the polapse over time can get worse.  I don't want to have to go through another op in a few years.  I'm 44 and of good health and whilst the pelvic floors are still quite strong wondered why the consultant wouldn't consider the "hitching up of the prolapse at the same time as the tape.

Sorry to take so long to reply not quite used to this site yet. I also have a pelvic prolapse despite my bladder TVT. Due to the hysterectomy my surgeon says the front of my mesh and bladder are quite soft  also the surgery could have made my prolapse worse. He suggests I give myself 4 months post op to heal before I see the urologist about re doing my bladder tape. In the future I may have to have a pelvic repair. It seems I could have both done at same time. It makes sense for you to be pro active and ask for all to be done at same time. Good luck
