Despite being given local anaesthetic, I felt every cut with the scalpel. One of the most painful experiences of my life. I expect things are better now though.
After the operation, I was very tender, but that is only to be expected.
I doubt there is anything that can be done for me. I'm seeing my GP about this and have just had some blood tests.
I had prostatitis a few years ago. A double dose of antibiotics sorted that out.
I'm really aching as I write.

For the last 6 months I have been struggling to live with Post Vasectomy Pain Syndrome (PVP or PVPS) - we were not fully informed of the risks, indeed we were explicitly told there were no long term risks!
If you want to risk:
Long term scrotal pain
Pain on erection
pain on ejaculation & for upto 72hrs after
extended morphine or other addictive medicines
then by all means consider a vasectomy.
However you should be very aware of the risks posed by this neither simple nor safe procedure if you do decide to play Russian Roulette and gamble your relationship on a vasectomy.
You should be very aware this affects upto 14% of men, and within that 14% who suffer pain varying from mild to discomforting there is a fair percentage of us who suffer debilitating levels of pain and who have lost their sex lives!
The pain is agony and seeing your spouse / partner trying to deal with the effects and guilt is also very difficult to deal with.
The big question isn't why only 14% get PVP it is why many more don't!
If you're reading this and considering a vasectomy then my heartfelt and sincere advice to you would be please don't do it, and use a condom.
