I have a boil that smell and my doctor keep giving the same antiboiotics to take. What should I do

I have had this boil on my upper back right beneath my neck for over a year. I have been back and forth to the doctor that keep giving me the same antiboiotics. The antiboiotics does work as long as I take them but how long am I suppose to take this medicine. This boil smell so bad that other people can smell it and think that its my body and thats not good. I also have a bad cough and seems like a cold on sinus, I'm tired of getting the run around. What should I do, find another doctor?

    Hi Tanya

have you tried alternative treatment than antibiotics?

I would recommend Homeopathic remedies. I found antibiotics just mask the problem and deplete you're immune system, and they don't help actually get to the problem and bring the problem to the surface. better out than in.

it's definitely worked for me after many operations in hospital to have them removed.. which after so many I was fed up of antibiotics.

    hope this helps xxx

So sorry to hear about your challenge. Personally, i consult with as many professionals as possible who specialize or have successfully healed whatever my challenge is. I don't know where you are located but i find doctors from certain countries, especially those with free national health care don't have too many choices. As for the smell, unfortunately that seems to come with the HS territory. Where are you located, perhaps i might be able to guide you toward some professional whom we have worked with if you wish.

You are very welcome. I'm in NY. My daughter has worked with a dermatologist who is the former president of the US HS Foundation. If you ever want to consult an expert in HS, please let me know via PM. He was part of the speakers at a global conference on HS which took place in Toronto this past weekend. He is located in Manhattan and takes insurance should that apply to you. We are, however, going to consult with a homeopath also to try and get away from the pharmaceuticals.

I am aware there's a 4 hr driving distance or 1 hr flight if that's doable for you.

Hello Tanya. My name is Nicole. Whether the boil you have is related to hs or not, the antibiotic apparently may not be doing the trick. As you've heard already. It wouldn't hurt to see a dermatologist, if you're not seeing one already. They should be able to help you with other solutions if it isn't going away and continues to be bothersome. Eventually your body will get acclimated to the antibiotic(s) and will no longer work for you. As far as the smell goes, well, we all who have hs know all about that, at least some of us. Don't be ashamed or feel down about that. I know it's easier said then done but it's not your fault. It's part of life unfortunately and people just need to grow up. I of all people understand. Sometimes my hs does that. I hate it, it's annoying and I've done things to try and mask it. Luckily for me it hardly ever does that, thank god. It will eventually stop and go away once you've found the right solution that fits your needs. If you feel nobody is listening to you or that you're not getting anywhere with the doctor(s) you're seeing then try someone else. Maybe what you think is a boil may be something else...? Second opinions don't hurt. Either way I hope I was able to help you. Good luck!😊

I do feel for you Tanya. At least I don't have the misery of odour to contend with too. It may be worth a try to mix a paste with turmeric powder and water and apply direct to the wound. Don't try this if you are on Warfarin though. I hope you get some help with this. All the best to you.

If you have HS, you need to see a dermatologist, if not, it could be a Staph/MRSA boil and you should see an infectious disease specialist
