I have a Jones fracture I’m not sure is healing

Back in March I ended up with a Jones fracture. My doctor didn't even think it was broken and only did xrays to brush me off. So she called an hour later, said it was broken and to go see ortho whenever they think they should see me. So I thought it would be no big deal with how she talked about it. The ortho number they gave me wasn't open until monday (i broke it on a thursday) so i got another number and got a friday appointment. They told me I needed surgery and were a bit concerned that i broke it just by walking but they said my hypo thyroidism could be the cause (my doctor insists the numbers are just a multiple time fluke)
so fast forward to now and I have been cleared to be doing everything normally but whenever i shift my weight to that foot and move it off i can feel things shift around. My foot swells when i walk on it even just a short time. theres also a popping feeling though there is no pain with the popping.
i just dont know whats normal and i feel like my ortho just brushes me off telling me "yeah thats normal" but then also that its all healed.
Has anyone else experienced this?

i had surgery to put a screw in the following week. then four weeks with no pressure no weight on it. i was in a walking boot for about 2-3 months then tennis shoes. i was cleared july first to wear any shoes but heels but ive been wearing supportive tennis shoes because the compression really helps.

i was told that surgery was my best option for it healing correctly. it was horrendous to walk on, now i just try to push through but the swelling can get so bad that i cant move my little toe.
a lot of the pain is from another spot closer to my toes. ive asked about it and they did tell me the swelling could take up to nine months to go away.
yeah we are lol!!
no i dont have any pictures. He didnt even show me the last one's when i was there. i saw the first set and saw the break.
