I have a real problem with sweaty armpits. It runs in my family and my dad is the same but you can get away with it when your a man. its not horrific and i've learnt how to hide the patches but its depressing and i hate not being able to buy clothes simply because i know i'll sweat and it will be embarrassing. I have tried the strong deoderant that you can only buy over the counter but it hasn't worked and i don't want needles or anything but i would love it to go away. Is there anything i can do? i live in england so i don't know if these pills are around here.

I did also suffer from sweating under my arms. This was very uncomfortable and limits me to the clothes i could wear. I found a product called 'driclor' it is a roll on which you apply at night.(About £5)It does itch and burn at 1st, just go to sleep and ignore it because believe me it stops you sweating! You must leave it on.

I have only been using it for two nights so far but i have noticed a difference! It's AMAZING!smile

You use it until you notice the sweating stops during the day. Then just once every 3 weeks depending on your experience.

When applying it your armpits must be dry(i used a hairdryer to make sure they were 100% dry), also don't shave them. Don't apply after your shower. I used a small amount in the centre of my armpit and a little more the next night(rub in with fingers). You must shower it off in the morning! i also apply e45/hydrocortisone cream to ease any redness in the day. I was told after a week of application you don't even get the red marks or itching. I'm on my 3rd night tonight...no sweat during the day today!

i have quite sensitive skin and believe me it doesn't hurt that much and it will transform your life. Try it and see...hope this helps!:D

I have an 11 year old daughter who is the same. She gets very embarassed about it. you can buy the roll on at most pharmacies and some supermarkets such as Asda. I have started my daughter using a roll on called mitchem which is cheaper but you can use day and night, I have found a reduction in her sweating. Our GP also suggested a treatment which is available on prescription. It is a paint that you put on your hands feet and under arms at night only.

I hope this helps you along the way. :D

I hate this problem its so upsetting  and like everyone else clothes are difficult to find that will hide the problem. I purchased the product Driclor from my local chemist, and it really is as good as it sounds! No more Embarrassment or shame!! :D [b:09bba8dc7d][u:09bba8dc7d]I LOVE IT[/u:09bba8dc7d][/b:09bba8dc7d]

I sweat mainly on my face (forehead) and chest. Would this Driclor be okay to apply to the face? I don't fancy having big red marks on my face all day :D .

I suffered with this terrible problem for years, always soaked under my arms, which was very embarrasing and affected my confidence and work as I wear a suit to meet clients, and also ruined all of my clothes with sweat marks.

I eventually had the operation to sever the nerves which control the armpit sweat system, I was cut on both sides of my chest and also under both arms, the operation took 5 hours as my lungs had to be collapsed to access the nerves, and the surgeon had problems getting through my chest muscles as I am pretty solid up top (male), and when I came round from the operation, the pain and discomfort was horrific, I could not breath in, as the muscles in my chest had been damaged when he had forced a metal tube through the chest wall to access my nervous system, I almost passed out with the pain, and was off work for 4 weeks afterwards.

The op seemed to be a success, and I no longer sweat at all under my arms, BUT, I now suffer from whole body sweating which I did not do before, I now get soaked across my whole back, chest, groin area, legs, in fact everywhere except my underarms!!

Anyone thinking of having this operation should think very very hard about it and get a lot of proffesional advice from a medical proffesional, as in my case, I suffered a long, risky and very painful operation, which has not improved my quality of life at all, it has just moved the problem from one small part of my body, to a much larger area.

I hope this information is useful to anyone in a similar situation.

    Kind regards

    Ian B

 oh Ian. That sounds so sad after all you have been through. Driclor really didn't seem to work for me and I am at the stage where I was seriously considering getting the operation, however having heard your feedback I am now reconsidering. Thank you for your feedback.
