Hi megan44200, sorry to hear about that, Whether it's cellulitis or not I think you need to urgently see a doctor or go to a&e, or a walk-in centre.

If it is cellulitis then you need to get put on a strong antibiotic that you are not allergic to.

    Hope you get well soon.

    Hi Megan

I had similar problems and spent a week in hospital on different antibiotics.(cellulitis)

Then my leg stayed swollen for three months. Seems the infection damaged the lymphatic drainage system in the leg and impaired my ankle joint. After four months the swelling is down. I've been taking alternative anti inflammatory meds. AloeVera gel was soothing. Also a physio has given advice on resting the leg and elevating it as well as excercises to help the muscles in the leg improve (plus some massage). My ankle is still a bit swollen and I cannot stand still for long. It is a long road to recovery!

Go to A&E as soon as possible, I had antibiotics from a drip for a week, they came to my house to give it to me, my leg was swollen and still is after a couple of years, keep it raised,I couldn't do it for long it hurt to do so.
