I have a short frenulum on my penis, what should I do?

Hello, i have a short frenulum on my penis(the part that attaches my foreskin to my tip). when erect, it is painful to pull the foreskin back "too far" which would be just past the tip. it does not hurt at any other time. I have to be careful when i masturbate and i fear that if i am to have sex it would rip off because the skin would get pulled back too far? Does anyone have any idea of what can be done? And what i should do? Thank you.

What is your age?
For most men the issue is usually both the Frenulum and Foreskin lack the elasticity and suppleness to correctly function without causing problems.
For the vast majority this is resolved by doing stretch exercises over an extended period of months so that elasticity and suppleness is greatly improved.
Simply reply if you have further specifics to ask on this. For you and other readers please check out the following Search terms as I am unable to post external web links:

I am 18, and i have been trying to slowly stretch it and i can see and feel some improvements, however i do still believe circumcision will be the best option once this whole lockdown thing has been lifted. Do you think the fact that i am still relatively young has to do with its lack of elasticity? is that something that just changes with age and experience?

The stretching is like any physical exercise that you do, such as at a Gym - you do not go in and lift weights that are too heavy for you to begin with - this is something you build towards.
Stretching the foreskin is like this, you start real easy and build on the amount you do, the frequency with which you do them and the amount of time you hold the stretch.
It is best to do stretching over an extended period of months - I would suggest 8 or 9 months is realistic to build elasticity into the frenulum. Of course, you have not posted a photo - there could actually be something else going on
I certainly would not recommend circumcision

Hi Andy!
I had a really tight frenulum back in 2012 (I was 20 then). The urologist did a small procedure on me known as Frenuloplasty. It hardly took 10 minutes ( on local anesthesia), in which a small cut is made in the frenulum and it is loosened up a bit.
Kindly talk with your doctor about Frenuloplasty. The doctor might even suggest you to wait for a couple of years for any surgery since you are young and growing. Circumcision you may plan later if you face any problems in your sexual life. In fact, nowadays there are a number of minor procedures like frenuloplasty, preputioplasty, partial circumcision etc that may be conducted instead of a full circumcision.
Be gentle with your penis. Do not indulge in stretching the foreskin without consulting the doctor. If the urologist feels that you may benefit from stretching, he may prescribe a steroid cream to use while stretching.
Talk to your parents about it , or if too shy to talk, get an online appointment with your pocket money. ( In 2012 we didn't have the facility of online consultations, so I had to talk with my parents).
Stop reading about it online. It will just add to your anxieties and fears. I have been through the same phase you are currently going through. You can trust me.
Good luck.
