I have a small bump on my lip, is it a pimple or cold sore?

I'm not too concerned but would rather be safe and sure, the bump appeared last night, it is tender when touched.

    I don't think that this little bump looks like herpes. The herpes lesion is quite easy to recognize, with several little blisters filled with a clear fluid that join together and become an open sore when they break.

    It does look like a pimple.
