Sorry to read of your depression, sucg an awful illness. Little alarm bells go off in my head when I read of people being "taken off" antidepressents. Doctors don't always know to taper off them slowly.
This is particularly important to you regarding the Escitralpram as you were on them long enough to cause a disturbance to your CNS (central nervous system) if you suddenly stopped with a slower taper. So what I think 'might' be causing your anxiety is not the uptake of Mirtazapine but the sudden discontinuation of of the Esc' - maybe I've got this wrong, maybe you did taper, if so that's great and I apologise.
So maybe be mindful of the necessity to taper ESPECIALLY WITH MIRTAZAPINE, it is not one AD that you can just 'stop'. A fully informed choice will help you I hope and more importantly save you from further suffering.
If you were to decide that 30mg was too high and that you prefered a lower dose, 15, 22.5 for instance, it would be helpful for your CNS to step down gradually and not going down in one large drop. The golden rule is usually 10% per every 3-4 weeks.
Wishing you well Dawn

Hi Dawn.I've found that when switching drugs it takes time for your body to adjust, especially when your weaning off one at the same time as being put on another.Over the last 2+ months I've been weaned off Paxil(20 years of it) and adding Mirt and Gabapetin.I'm just now starting to adjust somewhat.God Bless
