I have been diagnosed !!!!!

Firstly I'd like to say Hi to everyone and apologise for not being around for a while.

After my last battles with my GP I doubted myself so much that I really tried to live a [i:cf2b8a7c26]normal[/i:cf2b8a7c26] life which resulted in a real boom and bust scenario with the emphasis on the bust sad As a result I have spent the last several weeks in a permanant state of brain fog and exhaustion which is why I haven't had much to say for a while.

Anyway I now have great news

I have just been to see another GP and even before I could blurt out one half of my tale of woe she interrupted me and said ........ You have ME/CFS and probably Fibromyalgia too and I am going to do the referral straight away !!!!!

I can't tell you all what a relief it is finally to have someone (i.e. a doctor) listen to me after all this time :D

Well that is my good news, I just had to share it with you because I know that your support helped me persevere and I promise to try and be a better member of the forum in future.

Kindest regards

Kristal

Kristal you might have been gone but you have not been forgotten.

I am so very pleased and relieved that you have such a good GP now, and I hope your referral does not take too long.

The first GP should be ashamed of himself and probably caused your relapse.

    Lovely to see you xx

kristal i am so glad you have finally got your diagnosis (if you know what i mean :? ) it really did sound as if you had a clear cut case of CFS/ME and id like to come over and give that other doctor what for :grrr:

i know you probably dont feel up to it right now, but could you complain about him?

anyway the best thing is that you are now referred and have a sympathetic doctor. and we didn't forget about you = infact the other day we were wondering where you were :? and hoping you were ok. we all guessed that you were trying to carry on as normal cos of what your doctor said. he really should be ashamed of himself :x

    nice to have you back

    Hi there Kristal :D

That is absolutely fantastic news :magic:

I am so pleased for you but then we always knew that you were one of us, and that your stupid GP needs to go back to med school

Fanastic ..... you can really begin to move on now :ok:

Lovely to have you back ..... we were getting a bit worried about you :?

Take care and look forward to hearing from you lots and lots :D

    Katie

Have just reread what I have written and it seems so strange that I am so pleased that you have ME ....... but you'll know what I mean smile

Kristal, I really do feel too that you should write a letter of complaint ... perhaps to your Primary Care Trust about the negligence of your old GP.

And perhaps send the latter a Christmas card telling him of your new diagnosis ..... might make him choke on a mince pie or two with any luck :nahnah:

Hello Kristal, that's really brilliant news ! :P

Now you can get the support and help you need - hooray! :D

Thank you everyone for your kind words and I know what you mean Katie about being glad I have been diagnosed

I must admit that it feels like a mixture of triumph and sadness because I am thrilled that a doctor has finally taken me seriously and a bit sad that I actually have ME

Never mind, onwards and upwards, at least now I can start to try and think positively on managing this thing and hopefully get some professional support when my referral comes through.

I am in a bit of a quandry about complaining about my doctor because the one I saw today is actually with the same practice and I actually told her that my other doctor was anti ME but she didn't seem to care about what he thought ...... what a lovely lady she is

Well just maybe stick to the Christmas card then Kristal

And I know ME is a pain in the pants, but this fab forum goes a long way to make it almost bearable ...... sometimes

Perhaps one of those Christmas cards that has a boxing glove which jumps out when you open it

This forum is a real life saver and I am sure that if I hadn't found you all then I would still be thinking that I was just falling apart at the seams smile

    Hi Kristal

Isn't it odd that we are all so pleased you have been diagnosed with this awful disease!

Having a diagnosis does make all the difference if only cos it makes you realise you are not mad!

Glad you found a GP who believes!

I'm with Katie, I think you should complain about the first doctor. If he had been more understanding you could have avoided a collapse.

Glad we were or some assistance
