i have been first diagnosed with pcos when i was a teena...

i have been first diagnosed with pcos when i was a teenager as my monthy cycle was irregular. it was not a problem that time but when i started trying for a baby pcos became the major cause not to get pregnant. i am seen a doctor for five years now but there is no much changes or improvements. first i had clomid for three cycles but because of over stimulation of my ovaries i had to stop clomid. then i had metformin which helped me to reduce some of my weight (i am slightly overweight). after six months of metformin my doctor asked me to stop it as there was not much improvements. then i had ovarian drilling in last May which was partly successful. i became pregnant just three months after the surgery and unfortunately i was not able to keep my baby (i had a miscarriage when i was just six weeks pregnant). after that my doctor advice me to relax and give some time to get evrthing back to normal. that is seven months ago but i am still trying. i believe this surgery help me to improve my condition. my hormone levels are all normal and i have my periods just on time each month after the surgery but it is still difficult for me to get pregnant. i am expecting to have IVF tretments in May which is my last choice hope that will work. wish me luck.

(i am 29 years old)

    Hi,

i've just been diagnosed with PCOS this morning, about 11am. I don't seem to have any of the symptoms, i'm thin don't have any exess hair, have regular periods but i don't ovulate and had a scan this morning that showed this. After reading your experiences i am worried that i may get these symptons in the future. I'm 25 married and have been trying for a baby for 2 years now, my husband has fertility problems also and has just undergone an operation to try to correct it. Perhaps its just not meant to be. sadsadsad

    Hi

I have also been told I have PCOS (never had symptoms) maybe a bit too much weight!! Mine only came to light after an internal scan, then after 9 months of Metformin and 6 months of Chlomiphene without getting pegnant I was recommended to have Laparoscopy Ovarian drilling to help with the PCOS and to get pregnant, now after 2 months since I am still not pregnant yet!! Fingers crossed for me too!!

Hi, I was also diagnosed with PCOS (without any signs)only after having an internal scan to investigate subfertility after 18 months of trying for a second child! Following being put on Metformin for 6 months, then Chlomiphene for a further 6 months I was advised to have a Laparoscopy Ovarian drilling which I had back in July and still not pregnant! Has anyone else had this and had success, any more advise?

I also appreciate how lucky we are to have a daughter already as it can only be a million times worse without any children.:?

    Hi

I'm a little confused by your comment. You say you have regular periods but are not ovulating - surely that is what a period is, an unfertilised egg being broken down?? Can you still have periods without releasing an egg??? (apart from being on the pill)

    Very confused! :?

I have known I have had PCOS since I was 15 I'm now 26. I got married last year and last October (2005) we decided to try for a baby. I came off the pill and now a year and a bit on I still haven't had a period. I was refereed to a gynae consultant in Jan 06, he has been fab and I have taken metformin, chlomid, and also had injections but nothing has happened. I'm now booked in for an operation to carry out ovarian drilling in January 2007. I'm feeling optimistic and reading some of your experiences I can see it was worked for some people. I am trying not to get my hopes up as I know that everyone is different but all I can do is hope and pray that this will help me to get pregnant.

hi,well ihave just seen this and have read some of your stories and i hope i can add my bit aswell.

i was told at 16 the doctors though i had pcos and wasnt diagnosed till i was 19. im now 22 and my husband and i have been tryng for nearly 3 years to have a baby. i have tried metformin, clomid, weight loss, ovarian drilling, and more to try to help but unforunatly nothing has helped.we now have an appt to try more fertility treatment in jan and i hope this time we get a good gyne and it works!

just a word of advice though...HOLD ON THERE, its taken me a long time to get this far and i havent by no means completed my task but i know it will be worth it in the end GOOD LUCK!
