I have been getting Aphthous Ulcers for around three years now, although when they first appeared they were much worse than they are now, meaning at one point i had around 60-80 pinpoint ulcers at a time, some connecting to make huge ones, these would completly cover my mouth, tongue and the inside of my lips, equally my lips would swell and split. In comparison to the times when it was that bad, my mouth isn't too bad.

I went to the doctor countless times and even at one stage went to hospital, in the hope that by bypassing the doctor i would be taken more seriosly. Eventually, after seeing numerous consultants and having various blood tests, i was diagnosed with Aphthous Ulcers. the consultant in question said that the condition usually lasts for 1yr to 18 months, three years on and i cant go two weeks without having some kind of bout of ulcers whether strong or mild.

I have never known pain like it and although it is a good diet, at times becomes un- bearable. if these types of ulcers are so common then why hasn't more been done to find a cure or are we all to suffer in silence because it hurts too much to speak.sad

I suffer from the exact same problem! I almost constantly have a sore mouth and throat and it seems as though certain foods trigger my ulcers, as well as lack of sleep. Even if i go to bed for a couple of nights at 1 or 2am i seem to get a sore throat and then ulcers appear again. I have attacks of them where i have around 50-100 ulcers in my mouth and throat, my lips also swell and i start to get strange lesions on the inside of my lips. A lot of the time i feel asthough the skin in my mouth is very fragile, as though the skin is broken or the top layer has worn off in places. I've used various medication such as betnosol, bicarbonate of soda, salt water, corlan pellets, bongela, difflam mouth rinse is quite good as it numbs your mouth, it hurts slightly but you feel a tingly sensation in your mouth rather than absolute agony! It started a few years ago now and i would get attacks every couple of months. then it got more and more frequent and severe. The doctors cant help me so i've been sent to an oral clinic at the hospital but they cant seem to work it out either. I once had an outbreak so bad that i had a fever, hallucinations and the ulcers spread to my genitals. I was sent to various different departments within the hospital, even the sexual health clinic  and no-one can work it out. I also get aches in my joints and i'm extremely tired all the time. It's an absolute bloody nightmare!! I was searching on line and i found a disorder that causes such symptoms called bechete's disease. I'm really worried as i'm pretty sure that that is what i have. Its apparently extremely hard to diagnose. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about the disease or has any other ideas as to what may help etc.

By far the best treatment (and relief!) for mouth ulcers is **** in ****. I have used this for years and recommended it to lots of people and everyone has agreed that it is amazing.

There's only one problem, the manufacturer has recently discontinued production for \"commercial reasons\" so it is no longer available either on prescription (the 10g size) or over the counter (the 5g size).

This product is so good that it is almost a crime to withdraw it - so I am asking everyone who has used, or would use **** to contact the manufacturer by email, telephone or snail mail to ask them to bring it back. I have written and emailed them myself but the power is in numbers, the more of us that contact them the more likely they are to bring **** back.

Please write or email them - and spread the word as far and wide as you can!
