I have been living in hell for 3 months since taking sertraline

Hi,

Please can someone help me. I took sertraline 3 months ago because I was suffering from mild anxiety after taking one tablet I woke up in the night terrified and the fear wouldn't stop. I went to A&E because I didn't feel safe. This then happened the next night and I was locked in non stop fear. I went to see a psychiatrist and she said she thought it was anxiety. I was scared for my life. My head felt ekectticly charged and wouldn't go back to normal. I stopped the sertraline and then felt absolutely fine for 10 days until it all started again. I have been having severe physical symptoms where I am feeling like I'm being electrocuted from the inside and my head is constantly buzzing. Now for the last month I have been suffering severe pain through my body that comes on all of a sudden when out and about. Iv seen top therapists and had many appointments but I'm sure it can't be anxiety as I'm not worried or stressed. Iv had MRI and blood test and all are normal. Please can someone help. I'm 24 and just want to desperately go back to living a normal life.

    Hi,

I was on sertraline for depression but it increased my anxiety levels through the roof.

I went back to my gp and was put on fluoxetine much better since.

    Mike.

Thanks mike. Nice to know other people were effected this way. I'm really suffering with the pain can't even go out or do anything because it gets so much has anyone else experienced this? I'm worried I'm going to be stuck like this forever. Iv just started on velaflaxine so I'm hoping that helps.
