I have been suffering post perianal abscess surgery since mar 17

Posted , 2 users are following.

I was operated for perianal abscess on 15 Mar 17. And as on date it is not heeled fully. Pus is oozing in small quantities. My doctor said it may take another 3 to 4 months to locate if fistula occurs.

Pain is less .

I am worried a lot. Feeling exhausted and irritating.

Is it takes really 6 months to find out fistula occurrence ?

And if found then which procedure is quite good to recover fully.

Since I belong to India, please guide me accordingly.

    Hello

I am from Scotland and when I found I had an abscess I was given an MRI scan to locate it then operated on to drain the abscess, create a fistula and then insert a seton to keep the wound open and draining. The idea was the seton would eventually fall out itself closing the wound behind it. The seton did not fall out so after three months I was examined again and operated on again the help move the seton through me.

I can not comment on what happens where you are but your surgeon should see you again after three months, so mid June, to re-examine you.

Do you have an appointment to go back? If not I would contact your surgeon to make an appointment.

My other advice is to check your diet. Try to increase your vegetable intake as much as possible.

There is lots of advice in this group on the forum and many people are in the same position as you. You can also view the Perianal Abscess Organisation website.

I hope this is of help and you are well soon.

Definitely I may go for checkup in mid of jun.

And since mar 17 I have totally changed my lifestyle. I am taking lots of fibre foods, vegetables, 3 to 4 litres of water a day, no non veg, no alcohol, no smoke.

      Thanku for replying .
