Hi Alice.  I know someone who got it about a year ago.  She thinks she looks awesome because of the major weight loss, but she looks too thin, almost sickly.  Then there is dealing with the excessive loose/saggy skin from losing weight so quickly.  A lot of people agree that her personality has changed a great deal, and not for the better.  She is not pleasant to be around.  Mood swings, etc.  I am battling weight loss myself and after seeing her, I would never do this procedure.  This is just my opinion.  I wish you all the best.

Hi Alice, I had a gastric sleeve op on 31/03/15, so I will be 4 weeks post op tomorrow. I had a bit of a rough ride after the op (vomited for 39 hours) but I never regretted having it done once. My brother-in-law also had a gastric sleeve on 21/04/15 and he never had any vomiting at all and he is doing really well. I feel very tired still but apart from that I feel really well. I don't know how you get to it but I posted in this forum after I had the sleeve done titled "The good, the bad and the ugly" maybe click on my name. I don't know about hair loss but I believe it has something on do with not having enough protein and the quick weight loss in general. The only advice I can give you is make sure you do your research and that the sleeve is right for you. When I had my first appointment I wanted the band and was totally against havin the sleeve or bypass as I felt they were too drastic, my consultant went through all the options and said that the sleeve would work better for me (as I have PCOS) but that if I wanted the band that is what He would book me for but I could change my mind at any time. Which is obviously what I did after doing my own research. including the pre-op diet I have lost 2stone 7  pounds, I don't feel hungry at all, so I just make sure I eat regularly (although it really isn't much at all). Any other questions you have I am more than happy to have a go at answering. Good luck 🎊😀

Hello Alice, I had my sleeve op 4 years ago and lost 6 stone fairly quickly. I then put 1 back on which really upset me but I am stable now. I didn't lose anymore. I can only eat very small meals and don't drink for half an hour before or after a meal. I didn't lose any hair. I hope all goes well for you. D
