Hi Jaqueline.  5.12%  is very low, isn't it?  How do you feel?  I have heard of the tea.  Wouldn't hurt to try it.  Are the drs. pushing you into dialysis with that low of a number?  My sister is at 15%,  she is 81.  First appointment withkidney dr. this week, she said she is not going on dialysis yet.  May I ask your age?   I am so baffled over these kidney numbers.

my Mother has had 5% kidney function for two years, her creatin levels are about 600, her specialists can not believe that she doesnt feel ill, he always tells her she must go on dialysis but she refuses,  my mother still drives her car, goes shopping, cooks and eats food, her only sympom is that she gets a little tired, but she is 74 years old.

I would like to know that as well. 5% is low. I am at 10% and doctors want me to have kidney transplant. I do have a living donor but  want to kepp my own as long as I can. Anyone out that has had a transplant?

Linda if you are at 10% and you have a living donor then if I were you I would get the transplant right away.  The problem with waiting is you might start to feel worse and get sick and the doctors can decide that you are no longer a candidate.  They can deny a kidney transplant at some point.  Good Luck

At 12% in my opionion I wouldn't go trying any tea to fix your problem.  If it worked everyone would be doing it.  At the worst it could make you loose what function you have left.  Then you would be on dialysis sooner rather than later.  Good Luck
