I have cold sore for more than a year now what should i do?

i have been told i have herpes simplex 1 from last year. my cold sore that started very tiny hasn't healed at all. ive tried different topical creams but it doesn't help. the sore may heal maybe only 1-2 days and will start to appear again. I am just worried cause it spreading upwards towards my nose from both sides of my mouth. It is so difficult to get appointment so i have not seen anyone yet. Has anyone have the same experience? if so, were you able to treat yours? please advise. thank you!
