I have covid and I'm scared

Posted , 5 users are following.

I've had covid since Friday. 4 days now.

I've had the temperature but that's been on and off. I've kept myself hydrating.

I'm just fed up with the headache across the forehead band. Waking up feeling light headed at times.

I have had the coughing now which I understand is common. touch wood my breathing is OK.

I just want to be ok. I suffer with health aniexty so something like this doesn't help.

    hello mate,

I caught covid Wednesday and i have not been vaccinated, lucky my headache, aches and cough went after two days, im on day six and only have a few coughs at night followed by loss of taste and smell.

one thing has reared its ugly head again is my health anxiety, it is crippling im in tears all day i cannot get comfortable i constantly check vitals and have almost called 999 three times.

Try not to worry, (easy I know) Covid is abit more understood these days and anything bad happening is very unlikely, try to avoid the internet like I didnt and grt told all sorts of doom and gloom. here if you need to chat

Thanks Lee for your message/reply. im sorry to hear your going through the covid path aswell.

I'm on the 4th day. I just expect everything to start mending. But because I'm not feeling great I worry.

The hardest thing to do is stay away from Google. I check the stats etc. The deaths do not come close to the recoveries. A lot more people are recovering. I am glad I had my two jabs.

I rang 111 today just for a opinion but mainly reassurance. They said your symptoms are normal and nothing to worry about. I hope you feel better soon mate.

you are doing everything that you need to do. Staying hydrated is great. Just ride it out and before you know it it’ll be over with. You are young and your chance of recovery is very very high. Don’t overthink this. and take one day at a time. Keep yourself busy by doing things at home.

find a good book to read, organize your stuff, etc. Your symptoms are very common with Covid. Take care

Jan thank you so much for your reply.

We are so lucky to have good people out there like yourself.

I always phone my nan for reassurance but I don't want to be a pest. It's true I am young and will be fine.

It's just the health aniexty in me. I'm not nowhere near well enough to go to work. I wouldn't anyway as I would not be selfish enough to spread it.

I've just laid down on the sofa with the football on and catchphrase.

      thanks

      Hello Joanne,

Glad to see you are back on the mend. it's relieving to know your negative.

I have tried not to panic but sometimes when you feel your not in control like the light headed and hot fever you end up worrying.

I am just worried about getting better. I am a father to my little boy and I always think the worse. I just want to get back on the mend.

i understand exactly how you feel. i want to be "normal " again. anxiety and panic are debilitating and take control of you. also you are unwell so that makes everything worse. i hope you start to feel better soon. it really is the worst feeling and you have all my sympathies. just do what relaxes you, whatever it may be hope this helps
