Hello:
i am almost 40, i went to the doctor in january begginning of 2016 after a couple of weeks of antibiotics he prescribed me proscar(finasteride) for the enlarge prostate issue i was having; me going to the bathroom constantly was mostly fixed after a few months (4) but i had to stop it since i started suffering from ed, my libido was going down back then, and my erections were irregulars and took me forever to be in the mood.
So my doctor decided to stop the finasteride for the side efects and he said , the other options i have is to shape my prostate-so is surgery_ by then i was feeling better(not 100%) with my prostate issue. So i just left it there; so fast forward 5 months now; i have a feeling of being hot on my rear end(same feeling when i started this prostate issue) the only difference is that i dont have to go to the restroom often but now i suffer from ed;
my psa test was normal last year and i had an ultrasound and thats when it came out my prostate was big; no cancer or any other issues with other organs; anyone having same issues? or any knowledge about it?
i have an appointment with another urologist next week and i am hoping i have some hope..

I suggest you try the 5 mg of daily Cialis before any radical treatments. I think it's a fairly benign drug and may be effecive.

Hello - I am 69 years old. I was taking proscar and before that avodart and then combined with hytrin (generic) for more than 10 years. In the last several years I was suffering as you report. I quit the hytrin but needed to continue the proscar (I also was taking flomax for some years before I learned of the ED side effects). Given my history, on October 7 I had urolyft surgery which is less intrusive (although it's pretty intrusive) and a more recent fix to the problems of BPH. By the time of the surgery I was having problems voiding as well. I'm now about 7 weeks out and things have improved. I suggest you talk to your doctors about this.
Good luck.
