I have felt sick every single day of my life for the past 2 years, what is next?

Hi,

I am a 25 year old non smoking male and I have had sinusitis related symptoms since Oct 2016 and I am running out of options. I hate to sound so dramatic but this is seriously ruining my life. I go to sleep feeling horrible and wake up feeling even worse.

Things I have tried/tests/etc.

4 ENT doctors, 2 General doctors, 2 allergy doctors, COUNTLESS hours of online research. Antibiotics (multiple), Antifungal (oral), Flonase, Azelastine, Itraproprium Bromide, Neti-Pot (used this for years before though), I went gluten and dairy free for a month (no change) I moved to a new house in fear it was my last apartment, I have had 2 skin tests for allergies (nothing) and a blood test (nothing), any OTC antihystamine you can think of, I drink 120 ounces of water a day, I used to be very active but the fatigue is so real. Oct. 2017 I had a sinuplasty with a balloon to hopefully open everything up (symptoms were back a month later) Nov. 2018 I had my tonsils and adenoids removed (I was having horrible cases of tonsil stones/these were new since Oct. 2016) and the procedure was worth it but the symptoms came back about 2 months after I was fully healed. I have 2 high quality air purifies, 1 for bedroom 1 for man cave.

My symptoms

I call it ghost congestion, basically I feel the need to blow my nose but nothing EVER comes out. When I cover one nostril and inhale through the other I sound very congested but I don't sound the same when I exhale through same nostril. Overall my left side seems worse. When I do get something to come out, I can sniffle a bunch and feel it loosening up and then I run and blow my nose and this very sticky mucous comes out, both ears release of pressure and my nostrils make this noise, almost like a squeal (spelling?) I have severe eye/ear pressure, I cannot wear contacts anymore my eyes itch like crazy. I was scheduled to have Lasik corrective procedure but then I got sick with this crap. My ears constantly feel plugged and I want to close both nostrils and blow hard to open them up, but that is probably a horrible idea. POST.NASAL.DRIP 24/7 seriously. I clear my throat all the time and I constantly feel the need to chew gum or the PND makes me gag. My GF calls me a cappuccino machine because of the noises I make to clear my throat. I have fatigue all the time and would rather sleep than do most things, and this is not like me.

I had a CT scan this morning and the results are:

FINDINGS:

POSTOPERATIVE CHANGES: Changes of prior functional endoscopic sinus surgery.

FRONTAL SINUSES: Mild mucosal thickening in the bilateral frontal sinuses. Opacified bilateral frontoethmoidal recesses.

ETHMOID SINUSES: Mild mucosal thickening scattered about the ethmoid air cells.

SPHENOID SINUSES: Minimal mucosal thickening involving the bilateral sphenoid sinus locules. No air-fluid levels.

MAXILLARY SINUSES: Mild mucosal thickening in the bilateral maxillary sinuses. The floors of the maxillary sinuses are intact.

NASAL CAVITY/SKULL BASE: Midline nasal septum without focal defect. Unremarkable nasal turbinates. The cribriform plate is intact and symmetric. The anterior clinoid processes are not pneumatized.

PARANASAL SINUS DRAINAGE PATHWAYS: Opacified bilateral frontoethmoidal recesses.

NON-SINUS STRUCTURES: No intraorbital mass. The visualized intracranial contents and mastoids are unremarkable.

CONCLUSION:

  1. Changes of prior functional endoscopic sinus surgery.
  2. Mild mucosal thickening scattered about the paranasal sinuses without air-fluid levels.

So something is not right!!

Now my 4th ENT doctor wants me to see another surgeon in July to talk about more surgery.

I am looking for other opinions/options/thoughts as this is seriously driving me crazy because I am normally a very healthy individual.

Thank you for reading!!
