If you are worrying about a retinal detachment it is very unlikely if you are having only a few floaters in your eye. I get loads of floaters regularly and I don't have a retinal detachment. If the eye that is worse is a vitreous detachment then the eye that has less is more than likely to be the same. Usually a detachment is loads of floaters and flashing lights constantly and a shadow coming over your vision. Have regular eye checks if you do get a lot of floaters and don't do things bungee jumps or skydiving, you can get a detached retina from those type of activities.

They probably only did one eye because floaters are very common and you said they did the eye which had the majority of floaters. If you went to the doctor and said I have a few floaters, they are unlikely to check, it is just if there are loads and they are getting worse.

Most people who get floaters, get a few flashing lights in the corner of their eyes when they are tired or when they move their head very quickly, you notice them more at night. They are like a quick light flash in your eye. When people have a retinal detachment, they usually complain about increasing flashing lights and they see them a lot in the day as well as night.

Skipping rope is definitely ok! I know it is quite a scary thought having a detached retina but if you are young and healthy and don't have any big accidents, they are not that common. Even if your retina does get detached through an accident, medicine is so advanced that when you go to hospital they can do a small procedure and fix it for you.
