I have found Cipralex to be very good at helping with the symptons but the weight gain is a huge problem. Even on a sensible diet and exercising I am still not losing any weight. The other side effect is that I want to doze all the time.

Has anyone else suffered from similar weight gain?

I have been taking cypralex for the past couple of years, they have helped me through bad depressions but the weight gain is a real big problem, I didnt realise until reading this page that it was the medication.

Have been on these tablets for 2 years (came off them once but that didn't work) have now just reduced the dose , with my doctor's help.I was interested (and comforted ) to hear that other people have gained weight. Also I am sleeping a lot and just doze off all the time. However I feel better than before , so have to take the rough with the smooth and look forward to being back to my former happy, outgoing self in the near future!

I have the exact same problems, but when i asked my doctor if they can make you put on weight he said no. Ive been on ciprelex for 16 months. I have been going mad trying to shift my weight, going to the gym, swimming, walking, cutting out CHOCOLATE which was the worst. The tablets are helping me but one of the reasons i was unhappy was because i had a problem with the way i looked. It has been good to read everyone elses experiences. x:ok:
