hi Chris, I went through a period where I felt really strange, my skin all over would be really clammy including my arms and legs. Sometimes it happened lying down but also a few minutes after getting up. I too had to lie down otherwise I knew I would faint. When I checked my heart rate, it would rise rapidly after standing, up to 158 bpm at which point I was feeling faint. The doctors were puzzled but I think it is a problem with the autonomic nervous system. My advice is to check your heart rate. I bought a pulse oximeter online for about £30 which was really accurate.

Hi Chris, I get a lot of lightheadedness and funny feelings in my head with my fibro but also struggle to maintain a temperature. one minute I will be boiling hot and sweaty and the next I will be freezing! I take ametriptaline also and even though it does help me sleep slightly better its no miracle cure. try not to get stressed or worry as this will make your symptoms worse sad take each day as it comes and dont be afraid to take your meds if it helps you. best of luck with your nights sleep smile

Yes Chris, I have had incredible pain in my hips, shoulders, knees, ankles and back which completely interfered with sleep and would make me cry out in pain and take an age to turn over in bed. Sometimes the pain would be so severe it would actually make me cry.

    Hi Chris

When you need your meds do take them. It's frustrating when pain takes control even when one is trying to rest. I totally understand your pain. Myself I don't take any meds apart from herbal (my choice) it has taken almost three months for these herbal to get into my system.  I just asked my husband last night to touch my back last night and the pains that were quite severe for months with the slightlest touch was actually reduced.  I am so shocked. I am not getting too excited at the moment, just in case it flares up again.  I will share with all if this improves over the coming weeks.

I do hope you have a better day today. Stay positive  and calm wink x

      Hi Bee

when I go to bed I am freezing cold I snuggle up to my partner ( he is always warm to touch) I call him my human hot water bottle "lol" when I have been in a lot of pain his warm hand on my tender sore spot does help ease the pain?...  I believe it's the instant heat I feel and love of course :-) also when I have a not so good night I overheat terribly ( I am going through the menopause and on hrt) I get some relief from first taking paracetamol to take my temperature down and drinking a few glasses of water I get really dehydrated and then laying on my cold leather sofa cools me down I read a book or do crosswords I'm also addicted to playing candy crush on my iPad "lol" and then I fall asleep.

hope you have many good days :-)

Hi Chris, I hope the amitripyline worked a little for you although they do take a while to get into your system,

I know all about watching the clock most of the night in pain, then your mind plays tricks because your over tiered, I sometimes wonder if I'm going mad,

But I know take medication after a huge debate about putting toxic into my body but believe me after a while it's the best thing Iv done,

Don't get me wrong I still have horrendous flare ups but my meds take the hedge off and I manage to sleep 5/6 hours some nights,

Your sweating sounds like anxiety, which is quite common in prolonged pain, also depression, does your heart beat faster ? This can make you feel faint, if left untreated it can become worse and it does not help with your sleep patten,

Have a chat with your GP or rhumatology nurse who could advise you on this,

I have never had symptoms like that but work in community that's why I mentioned it,

    But it might be something

I wish you luck, thoughts are with you leona

thanks leona I did sleep better after takin the amitriptyline although I am very reluctant to take it every night but I definitely feel better for having a decent sleep and the cold sweat wasn't even as bad as stayed in bed for 10mins after I woke up

      hope u are keepin okay

So pleased for you, but try to take them for a while and see how you go feeling a bit better after one night has to say something even if it's short term for a couple of weeks once in your system you should feel much more relaxed which will help with your pain

      Gentle hugs.
