feeling sick. bum reactions ,  down feeling . All meds make you feel worse before better . You have a med invading your body it has to get used to it first  but hang on, 50mg is a started dose very rare you get better on 50mg ,after 2-4 weeks should put you on 100mg that in my oppinion is the best dose ,wil the least side effects

    Hi Lynn,

I have used Sertraline for a great many years. I take it at night and honestly do not have side effects. It works well with my system. My pattern has been to go on it for two or three years and then I go off it and hold my own until some major life shock occurs, which I seem to be plagued with, and then I go back on Sertraline.

One thought I like to share in this forum is that no psychiatric medications can cure everything. We are not bullet proof while on it. My success has been interlaced with reading self help books, all kinds of therapy, individual as well as group and exploring my spirituality and learning how to relax.

Still I can suffer ups and downs and have come to learn that this is just life, so I learn to endure.

I hope the side effects will not be too unbearable for you, but try to not pull out too soon. It can take 3 months to even out. And if Sertraline is not for you, then keep searching until you find the one that works for you the best.

    Take care,
