I have had ga for decades

I started with a big place on my knee. Had it for many years thought it was ringworm that would not go away. I would say I had it 5 years before I had biopsy which came back ga. Continue to just have the one spot for years. 5 years ago I got shingles. I started popping out all over with ga. I go to specialist. I have done it all. Clears up with meds. They make me feel terrible. Can only take one time for three months. STRESS MAKES THEM POP OUT ........ I have been stressed for about 4 months. I have over 25 spots on my body.... I really don't want to start back on meds for another 3 months. I have tried to tell doctors I think the shingles made it worse . Also stress , they seem not to think I am serious. ...

Hi Christine I got GA 4 years ago and went on plaquenil. It cured my GA but when I went off the plaquenil (which also gave me shingles) my GA came right back. What I have been doing is as soon as I see a tiny one pop up I go get it injected with prednisone and it goes away. Leave the tiny circle alone and you know what happens it grows and grows then it makes little circles nearby.
Anyhow I feel your frustration. I thank God everyday I don’t have plaque psoriasis or lupus or something else much worse than these dang circles.
Just wanted to share what works for me.
Take care 😀

I just found with this website and forum. I cannot get rid of these lesions. I have about 5 of them for about 4 years. I have tried prescription meds, steroids and they keep spreading. i am trying to put CBD on it to see if that will help. Does it go on your face?

I got ga after taking cipro antibiotics from oral surgery and I'm wondering if anyone else experienced anything similar. I'm trying the sulphur crystals I read about on this forum and I'm hopeful this will help. The rashes are on my shins feet thighs and uppers arms and now on my hands. It's been about 6 months.

I am 52, I have had GA since I was 18 . It started on my shins and feet then knees and hands. then thighs and elbows. It went away or at least cleared up when I was pregnant both times. But here is what I never hear discussed; as it leaves an area to go to the next, it clears, but the skin is never the same. the skin on my feet and lower legs was like that of someone in there 70's when I was in my 20's and 30's. The skin never comes back. Now my hands and arms are like tissue paper. Thin and crepe where ever the GA was. My biggest fear was that it would someday come to my face and last month I noticed spots under my eye above my cheek bone. I am horrified. Doctors never take it seriously. I have seen about 35 different drs. over the years. I've always been able to hide it well. I am a singer/actor and have always looked good for my age. But now it is going to destroy the skin on my face.

I am sympathetic for your situation. I have only gone to my internist and one skin doctor who gave me prescriptions that did not work and essentially had no cure but said it lasts 2 years, but after reading this forum I realize is not usually the case.
My GA keeps spreading from feet to upper thighs and arms. I have a spot on my hand and some on my torso. currently I'm using infrared light therapy, cbd oil, sulphur crystals and castor oil. I'm trying to be positive that this will help.Thank you . to everyone for your posts.

HI Christine, i have had GA for the last 15 years it started on my arms and hands and has now totally enveloped my chest and neck . you are so right about the skin left after a leshion has cleared it is like crepe old skin. I have tried everything and have finally resigned myself to being eaten up by this. As ive read time and again on this site doctors offer no solutions and continue to tell me it will just go away on its own. As a teacher of middle school kids I have had to come up with some very creative stories about what it is. My personal favorite is that I was attacked by an octopus and the circular scars are where the suction cups got me

hi I've had GA for about 25 years now. it moves around. I have it covering both feet, on my elbow and on my wrists. It really doesn't bother me. its been so long that it's just who I am. sometimes i get people who ask about my feet. I recently bought some organic hemp seed oil. you can buy it at superstore (in canada) or health food store. I was actually using it on my face since it's great for skin care and decided to just start putting in on my wrists just for the hell of it. well the circles and bumps just started fading away. it's like it was never there. I need to start putting it on my feet (been lazy). its inexpensive and great for so many things and worth a try.
