I have had Helicobactor for nearly 5 years now. I've had the combination therapy 3 times now and tried Mastic gum twice, nothing has worked. Every morning im doubled in pain. All through the day i eat to stop the agonising pain. My doctor says there's nothing more he can do. I've had a biopsy etc and I've tried nearly everything on the market. I'm gutted to think people live with this unknowingly, as with me its taking over my life!!

do not let ur doc fob u off,i think we all have different tolerances to antibiotics infact all drugs for that matter. if i were u i would go c another gp, u don,t give up on ur health. i am on my 2nd dose of triple therapy and dont feel its cleared the hp up, this is my last dose tonite and i am going back to the doctor tomorrow to demand a continuation of treatment. a perfect example my sister is on the fone right now her 12 year old daughter contracted an infection in her leg. the doc gave her antibiotics she went to the doc 2 days later and she doubled the dose and that has finally kicked the infection .

I've had HP for about 3 years now. I know I got infected when I was abroad and caught a horrible dierrhoea that lasted for about 3 days. After that I've had all kinds of different problems with my stomach and had the triple therapy twice and it hasn't become better. I got perfectly well during the time I was taking the drugs (7 days treatment, Nexium HP it's called in Sweden) but the eight day the symptoms were pretty much back in an instant. I also got lactose intolerant after this(!!?). The doctor keeps telling me the HP value is too low to be causing the problems but since they can't find anything else wrong with me I'm guessing HP is still the issue. I wonder if a stronger and longer treatment could solve it? My main symptom is that my stomach swells up real bad all the time and my toilet visits aren't anything like before.

I read that the following things might help: Astaxanthin (said to be the strongest natural antioxidant there is), DGL tablets (I have no idea what this is might be in Sweden), and mastic gum. If anyone knows something about these possible solutions, please share your experience.

Most of my family have suffered with ulcers, including myself. My cousin has suffered badly since she was 16 and has had the triple treatment three time to no avail. She still suffers terrible pain.

6 months ago I looked online for information and ordered her "Green Barley Grass" and "Aloe Vera". She took the green barley grass every morning, along with one mouthful of aloe vera juice. Within a month her stomach felt better than it had in 12 years.

6 months on she still gets pain after drinking alcohol etc, but she swears that it has revolutionised her life.

We would both highly recommend it!
