I have had pain in my arm and hand for over 6 months.

I am a diabetic so when it first started thought maybe it was related but now I paid to see a private physiotherapist as I have no benefits and she did an assessment while I wait for a long time to get into a hospital physiotherapist. I am in a lot of pain and live alone. I am a mother and a grandmother and my life is falling apart from this problem. I used to be working part time and had to leave the job as I cannot grasp or write anything. I can only be on the computer for a short time. The physiotherapist said my right forearm was distended, median nerve neurodynamic dysfunction, median nerve entrappment with painful and weak right wrist extension and radial deviation. I don't really understand all of this but I am so tired of it. Can anyone enlighten me further? Has anyone had this before and got better? Thanks all replies are appreciated!

hi deborah . damage to the median nerve . when you glasp your wrist the median is the long sticky out nerve you can see in the wrist  were the veins are  .  have you ever had the injection to the median nerve ?  because a lot of pain can be reduced by the injection to the wrist if you have not already done so through your gp  the radical  deviation is limited movement in wrist to arm .  involves  a lot of work in the physiotherapy department . you sound a lovely person and i wish you well. and hope the info was helpful . all the best.

I did have a cortisone shot in the begining and it was not very helpful and did not last. It was rather expensive and the doctor that gave it to me said it was not a cure but kind of like taking a pain killer. I see on my wrst yes that would make sense where the nerve is. Thanks for that information.smile
