I have had several breathless episodes lately.

I have had RA for 24 yrs and been on humira for 10 yrs. I am also peri-menopausal and wondering if the extreme breathlessness and hot flush are connected to that as well as humira. The last 3 years I have developed a 'weak' chest with colds and have put that down to humira. Any thoughts?

Thanks. Jill

    Hi Jill,

I've been on Enbrel for 10 years and just in the last few months I started getting episodes of dyspnoea. It's very disconcerting! My rheumatologist is investigating. His initial thought was a swollen liver putting pressure on my diaphragm. Some stomach discomfort might fit with that too. I'm waiting on blood test results now. I'll let you know.

    Good luck, Jill !!

    John.

I think you should see your GP asap.and ask him to recommend you for a scan, all of your symptons are the same as my wife had,and she too put it down to the menopause and the doctor agreed. However there was something more serious going on.

My darling wife started the menopause at the age of forty two,and still had what she thought were the symptoms at the age of sixty eight,so please for your own piece of mind get to the doctor or your rheumatologist.
