i have had swollen feet and ankles for about 9 weeks

I've been experiencing swollen feet and ankles for 9 or so weeks now. I had a blood test reveling my liver wasn't producing enzymes properly and had to wait 4 weeks for a second test where my results haven't changed. Now my doctor has referred me to the hospital for a ultra scan. Twice I've been asked if I'm a drinker which I'm not and now she's telling me i might have gall stones yet I'm not experiencing any pain or other tell tale symptoms to do with it. Could anyone please shed some helpful light on what could possibly be wrong with me as IivI've been reading so many different things that could be wrong

Have you asked your GP what she is thinking?  Tell her your imagination is working overtime and you are very worried.

Has she re-done the bloods?  It could just have been a blip when you had them done recently

    Have you read this leaflet?

And, when you say you have read a lot of things that could be wrong - ie, they might not apply to you - remember that!    It is easy to go through a Medical Encyclopaedia and think that everything applies to you.

Good luck Colin and try not to worry.   Have the ankles gone down at all?

Hi the symptomes you mention could also be connected to your heart.....Not sure about gallstones if you have no pain...I can only think that the ultrasound is to check these things out...don't be afraid to ask questions at the scan and dr's good  luck
