I have hiv symptoms but tested negative at 6 weeks post exposure with 4th generation test

I tested negative after 6 weeks post hiv exposure. i used the lab test 4th generation but i have most of the symptoms; fever, flu like symptoms, recurrent sore throat, chest pains, severe joint pain in my ankles and wrist and fingers, itchy skin but not much rash noticed. I am losing my mind i dont know what to do. can a 4th generation test miss hiv at 6 weeks post exposure?
