i have IBS - Suffering with diarrhoea & cramp episodes immediately after i eat my evening dinner

i am a 23 year old female, who has suffered with IBS ( more diarrhoea than constipation) for a few years. I have struggled to find what my triggers are and what sets my stomach off. Normally, i go first thing in the morning then 9/10 i am ok throughout the day. the last 2/3 months i have started suffering with stomach pains, wind and just general uncomfortable feelings. As well as this, i have episodes whereby, i eat my evening meal and about 15/20 mins after, i get horrendous cramps and have to dash to the loo, to which it feels like an explosion ( sorry TMI) and im bound to the loo for at least if not more than half an hour, and it feels like whatever i eat just goes straight through, then the cramps will subside to an extent. Upon googling it says its a Gastronic Reflex, has anyone else experienced this?? There is no pattern to what i eat, to then the reflex happening, it can be something one day, then if i was to eat the exact same meal a week later, it wont happen? i am at a LOSS!!! i do eat veg, i eat salad and fruit. I have wholemeal bread if i have a sandwich at work, i also try and incorporate bran flakes into my breakfast! i drink white wine ( who doesnt?) and im just wondering if there is a reason as to why i have started having these episodes?? i spoke to my doctor this morning who said wine could be a factor ( but its when i eat something not drink ) and to try gaviscn an hour before i eat - i thought that was for heartburn?

Please can someone tell me if they have had anything like this and what i can do - 😦

hi Shannon, i suffer from gastritis and i have coeliac disease too. gastric problems wouldn't cause what you're describing, explosive problems like this sound like your muscle is working too quickly. see your doctor, ask to speak to a dietician and write down what happens. the more information you can give to a dietician the better, my worry would be problems with malabsorption. are you losing weight with it? you should have been given medication to stop your bowel working so quickly. i can't imagine this. poor you! ring your doctor's. you need help with this
