I have just been diagnosed with hypothyroidism - today - after years of suffering. I have had a few blood tests over the years but aparently it cant always be detected detect at first. It is a relief to finally know whats wrong.

I was in exactly the same position. I have been "borderline" for at least two years and a month ago, after feeling suicidal for almost 2 months I was tested again and put on thyroxine. I now have to wait for them to "kick in" which could take weeks. I have put on 2.5 stone in weight and have not got the energy to go to the gym and work it off.

I am interested to see how you are now. I have put on 2 stone over the last 18 months and was suicidal and on Prozac for a year feeling a total failure.

Yesterday I was put on Levothyroxine but am anxious about it.

smile I have had hypothyroid condition for abot 3 years and been taking Thyrixin. Afert about 2 weeks i felt so much better. Your energy levels will pick up after a while. Plus the weight will go down especially if you exersise. You will be asked to go back for a blood test fairly soon as they keep an eye on the ammount yu take at first. If in any doubt speak to your doctor..
