I have just been diagonised with Hiatus Hernia my symptoms before my investigation were severe chest pains in which i thought i was having a heart after various investigations i ended up haveing a scope down into my stomach area and the doctor informed me of his findings. He prescribed me acid lowering tablets so fingers crossed. :ok:

I was diagnosed with hiatus hernia six years ago now and was given various different drugs to stop the acid producing. The medication seemed to work at first, but then I started vomitting all the time, had severe chest pain and burning, constant mouth ulcers, sore throats, cough with was particularly worse after eating and I was constantly having to try and clear my throat.
Six years on I had another endoscope where they found I had nodules and a severly inflammed stomach. At present I am on Nexium, with a view to surgery.
Two years ago I started to suffer problems with sinuses/hayfever, this I am now told it down to acid reflux and hiatus hernia.
I have to come off the Nexium in June and see how I cope, which I am not looking forward too, then I believe I will be fitted with a device to see how much acid is being produced, which I believe is a tube fitted into your nose, this is before the surgery.
Would these be the sort of tests that you are having done?
