Hello - I have been using these painkillers off and on for a number of years also for lower back pain. The symptoms you describe are normal especially if you have only just started taking them. There should be a warning on the packet of possible side effects. I notice that you are on the maximum dose in any 24 hour period which probably does not help. I found that these symptoms gradually subsided as you get used to the treatment. Hope this helps.

    HI

I also take these tablets for back pain they make my mouth dry. They also make me so tired and floaty like I am hoping that once I get used to them I will be fine. They also dont help me to sleep I wake up through the night suddenly panic like as well.

I have been on 30/500 co-codamol for nearly two years constantly, and have suffered most of the side effects listed on the packaging.Taken primarily for chronic lower back pain, they dont actually relieve the pain all that much, but instead give me the feeling that it isn't as bad as I think it is. This is probably caused by the codiene constituant in the pills.Kinda gives you a dont give a S**t attitude. I have in the past tried other relief drugs ( including pot, which didnt do a thing!)but the co-codamol gives slightly better relief than others, after four years of trying to find a balance! Alongside the "attitude" feeling, the only real problems are Constipation(try Lactolose)and dizziness,so Dont drive anymore. Also sleeping pattern is not regular,ie, waking at all hours!

    Good luck to you all.
