I have just been told I have herpes

Today I have had confirmation that I have herpes which was caused by type 1. I really have not come to terms with this and I am beating myself up. I can't stop crying.
I blame myself for a stupid drunken one night stand about two weeks ago. Yep shockingly enough the guy blames me! Before then I have never had an issue. One thing I am confused about I had an ob about 4 days after the sex and within a week and a half the single sore has gone away on it's own! Which I mentioned to the clinic, they couldn't actually tell me it was herpes straight away because the sore did not look severe. Is this normal? I like to think I am healthy with foods and exercise. I'm 25 and still like a girls night out from time to time so I'm not completely healthy.
I guess I just need reassurance, at the moment I'm struggling to come to terms with this. I'm scared no one will want me

The same thing happened to me I only had one outbreak .. And the sores went away very quickly totally and completely confused with my diagnosis I want to go back to get retested but I'm to scared .. The results are life my worst fear turned to life . I use to look down on people with these type of diseases who would've ever thought I would be in this same exact situation.
How are you doing now? How was your first outbreak ? From the way you describe it it's not as painful as many other outbreaks that people hsve had (including myself)
You think the dude infected you ? Is he infected ? Or is he indenial about the whole thing ?
Hold your head up sweetie it does get easier ., I'm at the same situation with this whole diagnosis as you are . I still cry just randomly think about it ...
But you will have your good days .

I am the same I had one tiny sore which irritated me when I went to the loo, then after a week and a half cleared up on it's own. I did use thrush cream and that didn't seem to do no harm. I do also take herbal tablets so not sure if these helped either.
At the moment I'm ok just trying not to get stressed about it. Now it seems to have almost disappeared. Which is why I was confused when I got the phone call today because I hear about how the first outbreak is the worse!
When I spoke to him he sounded clueless, I asked if he ever got cold sores which he mentioned he has had in the past! I told him to get checked out it's up to him if he does and that's on his head if he wants to risk spreading this. Before him I hadn't been with anyone for months.
Luckily I do have good friends and family around me, one of which has herpes. You just think something like this would never happen to yourself and like you said I was always one to judge others too!
