I have Molluscum

Hello I live in the U.S. and I have been reading these discussions for information because I have Molluscum.  I have had it since I was 25 and I'm now 31.  I was initially told by a doctor the classic " it will go away on it's own in 6 months to a year.  Don't touch them, pick them or put anything but soap and water on them."  I went to another doctor a year later and a biopsy was done on one of the lessions to confirm it was actually molluscum because all the previous doc did was look at them.  Well the test came back positive...of course.  She also said "they will go away."  well it has been six years and I still have them and they have spread.  I have them on my arms, back, buttocks and I have also had them on my face.  It has been devistating to my self esteem and my relationship with my fiance.  I recently went to a dermatologist and was prescribed RETIN A micro gel 0.8%.  I've been using it for 2 weeks and it seems to be working but time will tell if they return to those spots.  It's terrible because even though they leave one spot they WILL return somewhere else.  Why isn't there a way to attack the virus from the inside like with the herpes virus? I encourge you all to not take "no" for an answer from your doctor.  make them give you something to treat the molluscum.  If you do descide to dig these things out yourself, which seems to be just as effective as burning them, make sure you wash your hands well and covor the site after.  I recently found some evidence of colloidial silver being effective on viruses and bacteria.  I found some colloidial silver on amazon and I ordered it.  I will update everyone soon and let you know if it has worked.  Thank you for listening.

Hey, a student from california here. Just registered to try and help.

I have had MC for about 2 months and I finally got rid of it. I was freaking out because I it on my penis and as sexually active college student I've been distraught and trying everything that the internet had to offer. Here are my experiences:

Apple Cider Vinegar: Somewhat helpful, but painful and scarring. I had the biggest single MC on the middle of my penis, the rest being clustered at the base and in my pubic region. The ACV killed off the biggest one after two nights of trying to keep soaking cotton balls on it. It basically burned it off, but also the surrounding skin. I have a flat white scar there now. It seemed to be working, but because of the smell and constant bed sheet washing, I decided to see if the rest would scar up and go away. I only got rid of a few, but it did kind of work.

Zymaderm: So many positive reviews on Amazon, I had to give it a try. Well...it kind of kept everything at bay, but nothing was really going away. This was nicer because I could apply it and still go to school, so I was wearing this 24/7. I was always still self conscious because the smell is a bit much as well, but at least it isnt sour like ACV. Anyways I thought this was going really well for me, but then all of a sudden I had 3 on my belly, and 1 on the top of my left hand. Now i was really freaking out. This happened March 18/19th, so basically last week. I was about to go on a spring break cruise and almost canceled for obvious reasons I guess.

COCONUT OIL: SUCCESS. I have literally read EVERY article online and decided to give this a try because someone actually linked a REAL study(There's not much access to it, but I thought it was still something, hopfully not a fake study, but I mean hey it worked for me! [removed] ).

So last Wednesday I scoured my town for coconut oil. Sold out at Trader Joes so I went to Whole Foods, Bought a small jar for about $25, minimally processed, vegan, all that jazz. Anyways, my cruise was leaving sunday so decided to get it to asap. I got home and rubbed the oil all over my MC. I also ATE one liberal tablespooon of it EVERYDAY. Supposedly there's very strong anti viral properties in it so I was looking to fight this damn virus from both the inside and out. By Sunday all my bumps had pretty much been flattened, although a few were still slightly red. They just looked like healing pimples. I kept it up, still doing it for precautionary reasons, but as it stands today there is no trace that I had molluscum except from the scarring from the ACV.

    Pros:

It smells great! I could leave it on and not be ashamed of it. It doesn't dry out like ACV, so one application is good for a while. I did one before bed and one when I woke up. Maybe one extra if I showered during the day.

Eating it isnt bad. It is oil, but it isn't heavy. I liked mixing it in with soup, but when on the cruise I just mixed it with coffee.

It's inconspicuous, people won't be too interested why you're using it. It's generally seen as a health supplement anyways. I never let my roommates see me using ACV or Zymaderm, I felt like that would raise questions.

Warnings: I read that drinking a tablespoon might cause stomach issues. Maybe lower the dosage for younger children? I personally did not have any issues.

Last disclaimer: I read a lot about fighting this from the inside, and supposedly having a higher alkalinity within the body. In the 3 days leading to the cruise I also drank one tablespoon of baking soda to help increase my Alkalinity. When I got on the cruise I didn't bring baking soda or have access, but I continued to drink the coconut oil. So maybe that helped a bit too?

I will edit this more if I can. I am just so happy to be finally free and wanted to get this out ASAP. Much love to all who have to deal with this, Good Luck!

Oh wow I have been searching for a solution for 6 long months. I have no idea where I picked these up but I originally started out with 4 medium to large bumps(on groin), the largest funnily enough went away on it's own but I have been stuck with 3 medium sized bumps. I have been terrible self concious about it, especially when my partner is in the mood and wants to rub his hands all over. How long did you ingest the coconut oil? I only have a little left but I do have a full bottle of organic apple cider vinegar. How did you keep the cotton ball on? Gauze?

Since this is a virus and Abreva works well for coldsore virus, I've been trying this for my grandaughter's bumps. Doesn't hurt when applied and I'll elt you know if it works. One thing I've have taken orally for Coldosres is L-Lysine, get it at any Walmart or SAfeway or drugstore, health supplements. Take three times a day or four, haven't gotten any cold sores for 10 years after using L-Lysine three times in about a two year period. It's cheap and it works very well, I would give it to my granddaughter if she was older, she is two.
