I was hospitalized for an ovary removal. I got MRSA from two IV sites. I was in the hospital for the month. I had a fever of a 104 degreees. I was only told that I was MRSA. I have been given no information by my doctor. I had a burn on my foot from an IV and then two IV sites on my arm. They are healed up but my foot still hurts and my arm site, also. My question is will this always be with me? My white blood count was 25,000 and was discharged with it being 15,000. I just don't understand this MRSA. I just can't seem to find the questions to my answers. It's been since the end of Dec.2005 and I still don't feel good at all. I'm so tired. My body hurts and I so depressed. I'm afraid as I have a lot of problems with my bile duct and about once a year I have to go and get surgery on it. Now after this, I'm scared to death. I'm afraid if I go to the doctor or get surgery this MRSA will come back or maybe I still have it. And, how do you know if you still have it? I'm 42 years old and I need to know the bottom line about this MRSA. I am so angry with the hospital as it wasn't the most sanitary place. I remember calling my daughter telling her as I was crying to get me out of this horrilbe room that was littered with dry blood. I've had enough. I am thinking about sueing this time and if you know a lot about this, can you sue for a hospital giving me this most aweful thing. There is a lot of history with this hospital. They have almost killed me a few times before because they don't seem to listen to the patient. Any information that you can give me I would greatly appreciate it. I am single and feel like I will be that way forever. How will I ever develop a normal relationship not to mention marriage dealing with this MRSA.sad:yikes:

I have had skin infections of my face, they subside and then flame up again, leaving horrible scars and I feel like a freak. I don't understand why I am not getting a straight answer about this, like every doctor I go to has been instructed to be "vague" but I feel like I have HIV and everyone can see it.

Hi there. First i'd like to say, I am so sorry you suffer from such a terrible illness/disease. I on the other hand are just learning about MRSA and it's no thanks to the hospital staff, doctors, ect.. They did not tell him nor I, his Mom anythign about MRSA. Just whispered to him that he had it and released him (this is one hour after they admitted him!). THey did not tell us a thing, just shoved us out the doors!!!

The only way my son and I know anything about this illness is the internet and sites such as this one. Let me ask you this, what medications have you taken for this disease and are they helping you at all?

My son contacted MRSA after a bad knee infection after visiting the same hospital a month prior. This hospital did not put on my sons medical records anywhere that he has MRSA nor did they report this to the Center for Disease Control which they are required to do by law.

I do wish you all the best and I hope this disease hits a plateu and gets better. I know it's really taken an emotional toll on my son.

Can you tell me what you know of this disease please? Still needing information.

I wish you well and blessings of recovery and great health.

    Warmly,

    KathyLu
