I have nausea spell about 10 hours after taking lisinipril. Anyone else?

I take 25mg of lisinopril (one and a half pills) per day in the morning between 8:30 and 10a.m. It's the only prescription I take, and it seems to moderate my blood pressure fairly well. I have noticed, though, that fairly regularly about 9 or 10 hours after I take it, I experience some mild nausea--kind of a queasy feeling that emerges regardless of what I'm doing and lasts from 30 minutes to an hour. I didn't experience this prior to taking lisinopril, so I'm wondering if it's connected to that. Has anyone else experienced this? It doesn't happen every day, but it happens with enough frequency that I notice, and every time it's within that same time window (like if I took my medication later in the morning, it will be later in the evening when I experience the queasy stomach). I'm trying to determine if what I eat or other behavior helps determine whether or not it happens, but that's proving to be challenging. I thought maybe potatoes (potassium) through the day was the culprit, but I'm not sure that's consistent. I think water intake could be related. It has even seemed as if drinking up on water right at the onset, helps the feeling pass more quickly. One thing that doesn't help is that if I've just had a heavy meal out--fried food or potatoes or junky stuff--and then it's a day when the queasiness hits, that mild nausea has occasionally (a handful of times) not subsided but turned into a miserable evening of discomfort--perhaps just because there's more in my stomach to get unsettled. Hoping someone else has some experience with this and can shed some light. Thanks!

When I took this drug I not only experienced nausea but I developed a cough. It maybe helpful if you rake Gaviscon advanced which helps me as I am sensitive to most drugs,

It the 10 hours later part that is curious and specific. But it does seem to be related to this medication. That's why I was wondering if anyone else has experienced it. I talked to Merk and to my doc, and neither seemed familiar with that.

When I was on lisinopril (I'm now on another BP med), I would get nauseated. I took it after I ate breakfast. I don't know if it was 10 hours after I took it, but maybe more like 4 -5 hours. I asked my pharmacist about this and she suggested that I take the lisinopril in the evening or at bedtime, and it did help with the nausea. You can ask your doctor or pharmacist if that would be okay in your situation. Everybody is different and their situation is too. I switched to a different BP med because I developed the "cough" associated with ACE inhibitors. Good Luck!

For the first month or so I was good on Lisinopril. Then I noticed that every time I would eat, 20-30 minutes after I would feel nausea. It got worse to the point that I would have to lay down after eating. After doing some research I found that some people have an allergic reaction to Lisinopril. For some this causes digestive problems. If you google you can find this: "Intestinal angioedema caused by angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors such as lisinopril is rare but well documented in the literature. Patients with this condition typically present with common symptoms such as diffuse abdominal pain, cramping, nausea, and emesis."
I changed to an ARB, (Losartan) and my nausea problems went away. If Losartan does not do the job alone, It combines really well with a diuretic or CCB.
Good Luck!
